Elderberry Natural benefits (immune system support) etc.

VTKS MINDFULNESS v2 Regular

Wondering why you keep getting sick? I did.

Recently I became more interested in healing and preventing illnesses naturally, and of course, I experimented on myself all winter 😆.

The reason why you keep getting sick is because traditional doctors treat SYMPTOMS, and don't go down to the root of the problem. Your getting sick because your immune system is low!!

Elderberry Syrup has many health benefits but before I get into those, I'll tell you how I use it mostly. I use Elderberry Syrup to boost my immune system whenever I feel like I'm starting to get sick, when people around me are sick, etc. I just take a tsp. or two of the syrup (which you can buy at whole foods for around $14) and either take it straight like cough syrup, or put it into hot water and have it as a tea.

As a tea, I like to mix it with green tea or chamomile tea, since it is really sweet tasting.

Onto the other health benefits of Elderberry Syrup...

-Like I mentioned above, it is amazing for immune support and major cold and flu relief. This is because the berries contain anthocyanidins which have immunostimulant effects.

-Sinus inflection aid because of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

-Lowers blood sugar. Because of the elderflower extracts that stimulate glucose metabolism and secrete insulin, lowering blood sugar levels.

-Promotes urination and bowel movement

-Promotes healthier skin because of the antioxidants, biolflavanoids and high vitamin A content.

-Allergy relief because of the anti-inflammatory and immune benefits.

-And lastly, helps prevent cancer. 1) because of the antioxidant properties of this berry and 2) because it has chemopreventative properties that can delay or reverse cancer formation (more studies needed on this)

*SOME RISKS*
DO NOT
-consume raw
-consume while pregnant
-give to a child before asking a Doctor

This berry also has interactions with medications for -
-diabetes
-diuretics (water pills)
-chemotherapy
-immune surpressing drugs
-laxatives
-theophylline (theodur)

and lastly, here is the link to my sources and a recipe to make your own at home Elderberry Syrup!!

Tips to help you stay on healthy and fit on vacation!!

Niagra Faults Regular
As we all know, it's extremely hard to stay on track with diet and fitness to begin with, let alone ON VACATION TOO! So i figured I'd put together some tips I do on vacation to stay on track as much as I can.

Now remember, it is a vacation.  So even though you want to stay on track, it's okay to have a cheat here and there and enjoy your time.

~Bring things on the go with you; like a protein bar, an avacado, a banana with a peanut butter packet, almonds, anything that you can fit in your purse that can stay in there all day until you need it. This is a perfect vacation tip because you're always on the go and that's when you eat unhealthy.

~When you go out to eat, remember to portion your food; have some protein, veggies, and a little bit of carbs.

~When ordering your food, coffee, anything, don't be afraid to ask for substitutes. For example: When I order breakfast, I'll substitute my eggs with egg whites, sausage with turkey or chicken sausage and I'll get a waffle BUT I'll eat the protein first so I only have room for a little bit of the waffle

~Drink lots of water!! TIP: add some fruit, cucumber, mint, lemon, to make it detoxing and refreshing!

~As for working out, try to find a gym in the hotel you're staying at. If not, try and find a gym around you to just go for the day. Lots of gyms have free day passes or even free week passes. Take advantage!!

~If you can't find a gym around, take a jog around the area your staying, go next to the beach and run along the water, do at home workouts that you can find on YouTube or Pinterest. (If you guys want an at home workout routine comment below!!)

~As for drinking alcohol, there's no way to really go around saving those calories but try and stick with the low calorie alcohols. Just remember, the higher the alcohol content, the higher the calories.

**Here's an article from WebMD that I found for you guys on Low Calorie Cocktails and some information on calories and alcohol you could find useful!

~My good friend Juliana Stikons actually just put up a youtube video on some great tips to stay fit and healthy this summer with a great recipe included!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!! Please don't forget to subscribe if you liked this post it would mean a lot to me!!

Shaving tips and products I use to keep my legs (&body) smooth all summer long!!

Pyktor Regular

So since summer is here I figured I'd share with you guys some tips and products I use to keep my legs (and body) smooth! I have extremely sensitive legs to shaving but I don't like waxing them because you need to wait for the hair to grow a certain length and who has time for hairy legs?! Not me! Follow along with these steps to perfectly smooth legs!

P.S. ~ If I found a link to purchase the products mentioned then I linked it for you! just click the different colored words throughout the blog to go to the page!

Step 1) EXFOLIATE - I use a light exfoliater cream from European wax center that I purchased for $20, you can purchase this in store only I believe so I attached a picture of the bottle for you guys!

Before I used that, I would use any sugar scrub or just exfoliating gloves or loofa.
You want to exfoliate your skin before you shave because it will take off the layer of skin and reveal more hair for you to be able to take off aka a closer shave aka longer lasting shave!

Step 2) SHAVING CREAM - now, I've tried almost every shaving cream and every conditioner etc to shave and the only one that works wonders is the new EOS shaving cream. IT. IS. EVERYTHING. It's a cross between a lotion and a shaving cream, smells amazing, and keeps your legs feeling so soft !

Step 3) RAZOR AND SHAVING - the razor you use is extremely important as well. I used to use women's razors but then realized guys razors are so much better! I use the Schick hydro 5 razor for men and I found it to be the best I have tried!

Step 4) RINSE - rinse your body or legs off with Parabon free wash (ex. St Ives) to help prevent ingrown hairs

Step 5) LOTION - NIVEA in shower body lotion is the best thing ever made and helps so much after shaving in my option. I also use a lotion without perfumes in it as well after my shower to really lock in the moisture.

And your done! This is how I have finally kept my legs super smooth and looking amazing all summer long! Like I said my legs are super sensitive so if you have sensitive skin these products are worth trying for sure!

I hope you enjoyed my holy grail tips and products please let me know in the comments if you try this out and how you liked it! Also comment down below with any questions or suggestions for future blogs !

Sultry brown smokey eye from my twitter!

PWStraight Medium

A couple of days ago I put up a picture on Twitter of my brown smokey eye for the night and asked you guys if you wanted a blog and you did so here it is!

I started off by priming my eye lids with my go-to Urban Decay eye primer potion.

I then put this Ulta brown eye crayon all over my lid and blended it barely into my crease.

Then I took SANDSTONE and CINNAMON from the Lorac Pro palette and put those two colors on my lid

Next, I took TAWNY AND BURLAP and blended them into the crease to soften up the look a little and blow out the smokey eye.

Lastly I took PROSECCO and SOFT PLUM and put those in my inner corner for a light pop of color.

I then took TAWNY and BURLAP and smoked that on my lower lash line.

And for the very last step to pull the whole smokey sultry look together, I added my black Marc Jacobs eyeliner on my water line and added lots of coats of mascara!

And your done!!

This look is so easy, matches whatever your wearing, super sexy and super smokey!

I'm absolutely in love with this look because I love doing smokey eyes but black just looks too dark on me and this look is smokey but not too dark at the same time.

Let me know what you think, if you try this out, and if you have any requests for other blogs in the comments below!!

And don't forget to subscribe while your here!!

My 3 favorite summer blush and highlight combos!

Evasdigiscript Regular

Since summer is here, I figured I'd share with you guys my favorite summer blushes and highlight combos!

I've been absolutely obsessed  with:

Milani luminoso blush with my Mally purelight highlighter (the blush in this palette is really good too!!) ~I love this combo for days that I'm wearing a natural glowy look.

NYX ombré 'mauve me' purple blush with hourglass ambient light highlighter ~the blush is a dark plum color and it looks like it's extremely dark but it is so buildable with such a light gorgeous color and blends very nicely

Lorac tantilizer as a double of bronzing and blush and as my highlighter ~I either don't put one with this blush because it does have a nice sheen but if I have some extra time I'll throw on my liquid loreal true match 'golden' highlight on my cheek bones!

These 3 blush and highlight combos are my absolute favorite for the summer time! 🌞 Especially with a tan, it looks so glowy goddess and gorgeous. Blushes and highlights really pull a look together. I always make sure to put them on to bring back some color to my face after putting on foundation 😋

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR SHOTS FOR MY DIET?! READ MORE!!

Asiago Medium

If I know I have an event coming up and I really need that extra umpth in my diet, I like to takes shots of apple cider vinegar!

The reason I drink apple cider vinegar in the mornings is because it cleans out your system! It is an all natural detox for your body that helps tone and lose fat! Of course in combination with eating healthy and staying active.

Apple cider vinegar is good for:
1. Your digestive system

2. Healthy mouth and gums

3. The key to porcelain, glowing skin isn’t expensive, store-bought toner, it’s apple cider vinegar! The vinegar can be used as an effective skin toner (1 part vinegar; 2 parts water) when applied with a cotton pad in the morning and before bedtime to banish acne, oily-prone patches skin, blemish scars, and age spots. (http://m.activebeat.co/diet-nutrition/8-beneficial-uses-for-apple-cider-vinegar/6/)

4. Shiny strong hair

5. Lowers blood sugar levels

6. Lowers cholesterol

7. Helps tone and lose fat

Yes I did say shots! 😋 here's what I do:

Everyday when I wake up, before doing anything, I take my RAW ORGANIC BRAGG UNFILTERED APPLE CIDER VINEGAR WITH THE 'MOTHER' UNPASTERIZED and pour 2 tablespoons (which is basically two cap fulls) of the vinegar into a shot glass and take it and chug down some water.

It definitely is a strong smell so just hold your nose and take it back girl!

When you take the shot you need to be up and active (walking around, standing, just in general awake, you cannot go back to sleep) nothing will happen if you go back to sleep but it just does not work if you aren't awake and up. It needs to digest into your system.

An hour to an hour and a half later you can eat something for breakfast! Definitely stick to a healthy diet when doing this and be as active as you can.

I usually do this until I feel like my body is as toned as I planned it to be and then I take a break for a little while.

TIP: this only works with this specifically organic all natural brand!!
